The Lizzadro Museum displays gemstone treasures created by ancient craftsmen as well as by contemporary artists. The building itself is a gem, designed to resemble a jewel box in a park setting.

Educational Boxes Available
The Museum offers educational boxes with rocks, minerals, and fossils, hands-on specimens and activities. Three boxes are available for loan: Rocks& Minerals, The Quartz Family, and Illinois Rocks& Minerals. Geared for 3rd thru 6th grade, boxes are loaned free of charge to groups; school, scout, home schools, camps and daycares. Call or e-mail (info-at-lizzadromuseum-dot-org) the Museum for an educational brochure.


Additional Info:
- Free for everyone on Fridays
- Hours are 10:00am to 5:00pm
- Active members of the Armed Forces are admitted free of charge on any day the Museum is open to the public.
- The Museum has facilities to provide access for physically disabled visitors.
